We stayed in the Turquoise Turtle…#355, week of 6/24-7/1. We had multiple interruptions to our vacation to accommodate repair techs, for items that should have been addressed prior to our arrival. Drain clogged in second-floor bathroom on arrival, use plunger to fix. Should have been checked prior to our arrival. Grill not working properly and gas tank empty, two additional empty tanks on the property. Was told we had to get our own propane. House # 426 named Jay Jones. The house was dirty upon arrival. Surfaces sticky and floors sandy. Windowsills and baseboard dust coated. There is a large amount of fuzzy mold growing on several windowsills. The cloth furniture is stained to the point of being disgusting. The washer and dryer did not work and it took a week to get it repaired. If we hadn't been renting for 2 weeks we would not have seen a repair man.
We have been trying to call for a week now to see the status on a fitbit and earphones that our daughter left under the pillow in the room she was using. We realized it fairly quickly and ran back in to the house. But that was after the cleaners had cleaned the house and before the next people came in to rent it. They cancelled my rental after I paid on it for 6 months. I have my suitcase packed. They will refund my money but no other place available and no compensation. I had been warned about joe lamb. Should have listened.
BEWARE - Joe Lamb Jr & Associates - Tides Inn (212) The unit master bedroom bathroom was clearly either not cleaned at all, or not cleaned very well. Upon our arrival the shower in the master bedroom had a long women's hair hanging on the wall of the shower and used soap still in the bath tub ledge. My family has traveled to the Outer Banks every year for a week vacation for the last 12 years, with family driving in from as far away as New Hampshire each year. This was the first time we have rented through Joe Lamb and I must say this was the most unclean and unhealthy house I have ever stayed in. We rented a unit in Pelican Watch through joe lamb for my daughter and son-in-law so they could have a mini honeymoon. Well, according to feedback from my daughter, I have to agree with the negative reviews on YELP. Seems the unit is FILTHY, several items are broken, and the folks at Joe B Lamb seem unresponsive and unconcerned. Think twice before using this rental agency.
Truly the beach house from Hell ! We arrived at 4:00 on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020. The house was the filthiest vacation house we had ever seen! Every room was filthy with blatant dirt on every floor and teeming with roaches. The kitchen was the worst. All the silverware was covered in filth and dried food.
