About this business

A neighborhood pub always filled with locals, Joe Jost's is an old-school diner that has been around since 1924. It is truly a local landmark that is mostly known for its devilishly delicious pickled eggs. In fact, these eggs are so popular, the restaurant decided to sell its dry-mix to make at home for those who cannot visit Long Beach. Additionally, Joe's has functioned as a pool hall for nearly a century as well, so when you are done with dinner, don't forget to hit the old snooker table before you go.

We never have any problems when we are here. If you want a classic bar experience, good beer choices and a simple but unique food menu, then this is the place. Joe Jost's has been around for 95 years without much changes, and it will continue to be here for another 95 + years, doing the same thing they've always been good at: serving up the beer and good times.

This might the oldest still functional bar in all Long Beach. It sold root beer during the depression, and made their own roasted peanuts (Marmion). Since then, they have the coldest tap beer in the whole city. A thermometer above the cooler lets you see the temp in big red numbers (usually between 27.5-31.5 degrees F). They serve a polish doh special that comes with pretzel sticks. You can add their world famous pickled eggs which are just the best. 24 oz classic schooners are the main attraction. They have several taps for... read more
