I would not recommend using John. While he was initially responsive and pleasant to deal with, communication became an issue when a big deadline was approaching. My messages went unanswered for multiple days, and I had to ask the agent to contact him to get a response.
Hi. I too have had a report from John that missed two major structural issues that will be very expensive for me to rectify. I also cannot move into the house until I know it is safe and he has shown no urgency on replying to my concerns. Matthew reach out to me if you think it's worth pursuing this jointly for our properties.
Paid for a building inspection report on a recently purchased property. The inspection missed a number of issues that will need to be rectified that should have been picked up. Report marked no safety issues, however a major issue has be located. Attempted to contact the inspector, no answer or response. I would not use this overpriced service if I was you.
John did an inspection of a property I am looking to buy. He directly ignored the subfloor access and stated in the report there was not access despite there being so in the front room of the house. He states in his report you can contact him if you have questions about the content of the report - he does not answer phone calls or texts. I do NOT recommend this service.
I am so relieved that I got John to do an independent Building and Pest Inspection on a property that I was considering to buy in Paddington. The agents had provided their own report but even with my limited knowledge, I suspected that there was a lot more going on with the property and I was right. You can't expect these types of inspections to detect every single issue but you would hope that they pick up chances of major defects or issues that may require further investment to rectify and John's report did.
