Over the years I have taken my children to him and he never had a solution to the issue at hand. Always more just common sense answers that we were already doing. He was the only Dr who was open today and we thought he might be helpful with the issue at hand as he is more known as the “sports” Dr. NOPE! Still useless answers and never really listened to what has happened and steps already taken. Completely useless!
Lazy. Doesn’t want to order labs. Doesn’t back his patients in disputes regarding the front office
professional, educated and always responds promptly to any concerns that I have in regards to my father’s care
I would give less than one star if that were an option. Dr. Ngatuvai was abrupt, rude, and couldn't have cared less about my concerns. When I asked about a hernia, he never checked and said I was just over-weight. When I asked about my knee (I had recently injured it) he said probably osgood schlaughters from when I was young. I asked about contraindications on a couple of meds I was taking he never answered. When I got home I discovered on the web that use of both of them together should be discontinued immediately. I wouldn’t recommend going to him for anything that you’re not already certain about. I don’t normally see him so this might just be an off day but he didn’t seem particularly competent to me. I mainly needed to refill a prescription, but then after he ordered the meds I brought up some other medical concerns and getting any input from him was like pulling teeth.
Sometimes he helped well, mostly it was not bad.. but not great either. Didn't seem to understand the conditions I had that were more complicated and needed more care and attention. But basic things like a cold or flu he wasn't too bad:
Excellent doctor. Very thorough and patient. Carefully checked my medical history and asked questions. Listened to my concerns and answers questions in a way that you can understand. Did thorough examination, including blood and urine tests. Was able to see him right away. Did not have to wait weeks like with many other doctors.
I have a genetic back condition that a breast reduction will really help, as it has with my family. After we talked, and I had talked with doctors when I was originally diagnosed that said a reduction would be beneficial to my condition, he said that because I was young, I might gain weight in that area when I was older so he would do a spinal fusion before a reduction. 6 months of bed-rest recovery over an outpatient procedure because I might gain weight and counter-act the reduction.
My wife went in 6 months ago for a suspicious breast lump. Dr. Ngatuvai was rude and condescending to her. Telling her that women worry about nothing for no reason. He refused to order any diagnostic tests, claiming that was the reason our medical system is so broken. He reluctantly performed a breast exam when my wife continued to push and told her it was nothing. 6 months later my wife has now been diagnosed with breast cancer. We could have had a 6 month jump start on this if Dr. Ngatuvai had
