TL,DR: a plumber from Jiffy Plumb came to my house, damaged my toilet, and spread literal feces water through my home. Then the owner called me a liar for sharing the experience. I called Jiffy Plumb and spoke to Lou (who I understand to be the owner) because one of my home heating zones (hot water baseboard) was not working. Lou came on Jan. 5 and was very friendly, showed me what the issue was (air was in the line and needed to be bled), and was very gentle with the cost of service. We have been using Jiffy Plumbing for years. Excellent service. Reasonable response time. Fair pricing. The plumbers are professional and honest about the work that needs to be done. They have done several plumbing repairs for us, from replacing water heaters to fixing a leaky pipe.
It is so hard to find good people for home repair, and I'm lucky I happened to call nearby Jiffy Plumb after moving here. Mike has been out here twice to fix two problems we found in our newly purchased home. Mike not only easily fixed both problems, but he took the time to show me where the pipes are located in the walls for future reference. Really great service and fair pricing. They have found a repeat customer.
The plumber determined the problem right away: our septic tank is located right by an old oak tree (which might have been a baby oak as our house was built in 1933), and the pipe going outdoors to the tank had tree roots in it. He cleaned out the roots and our problem was solved - no more backup into our basement! We are very pleased with his work, not to mention that he was a very polite, but friendly man!
