On 6/2/25, my husband had the phone on speaker (as he always does) when the scheduler required him to bring a driver to his hip injection appointment scheduled for 6/25/25 at 10:45am in the X-ray Department on the 3rd Floor of Jerry Pettis Hospital. You are judged on your weakest link and that is your 24-7 call center. These lazy gate keepers love to do anything but their job to get you off the phone instead of getting you the assistance you need. I literally just had a lady tell me she couldn’t help me and had to transfer me to someone who can. You know where she transferred me to… right back to her department. I needed emergency surgery and was between Kaiser, Loma Linda Murrieta, and Loma Linda VA. I had a distal tendon bicep rupture and needed repair within 2 weeks. After desperately looking through my options, the VA in Loma Linda came right to my aid. They did exactly what a hospital would do with great care. It felt better than Cedar Sinai with my 1st tendon rupture. The staff was just on it. They called and called to ensure I was okay and rushed my surgery. My brother was admitted for a heart attack a day before Mother’s Day.. He had a stent placed in his major artery. The staff made him feel safe and cared for. He was bragging about how wonderful they were in the cardiology department. He was also happy with the delicious steak and lobster dinner he was served. He said every meal was tasty. Had to use the emergency room at the VA main hospital. It was about 1830. Not very busy. Nice waiting room with a few vending machined and restrooms. Was called up very quickly to check in. Went to screening for vitals I'm less than 5 minutes. Went to a main room 5 minutes after that. Longest wait was for xrays. Everyone very nice and professional.
