I felt so rushed on my appointment back in April. Didn’t get any answers but that my hand just inflammed and just referred me to an arthritis specialist. To find out the rheumatologist saying that it is more of a carpal tunnel and that I need to go back. Asked if he even tried to do a EMG since I haven’t had once for couple years. That on the notes back in 2023 states that I do have carpal tunnel. I just told the doctor to schedule me in his care because clearly I don’t trust Dr. Oakey anymore. My family has had the unfortunate need for a hand surgeon twice now. My husband had a chisel slip into his thumb about two years ago and severed the tendon in his thumb. Dr Oakey repaired it and my husband has nearly full use of the thumb back. Second time was for my son. Freak accident at the park and he nearly severed his thumb. We were relieved Dr Oakey was willing to do a pediatric surgery. He was so great with him! 2 years ago I was sent to Dr Oakey from the ER after my left hand had an encounter with a chainsaw. He was amazing from day one through my 3-4 surgeries. Every time my hand was unwrapped I was shocked with how good things were looking. Looking at my hand now, people would never know about my injury. I recommend him 100%!!
Was referred to him by another doctor in the practice. He was an awful human being. Didn’t review MRI with me, walked in, pushed 4 spots on my hand and asked if it hurt, then handed me my back to work papers. Nothing was done to fix my painful hand/wrist issue. He couldn’t be bothered by my injury because “I just type all day, it’s not like I work for Rivian putting cars together.”
Currently homeless and they were aware. I told them the surgery I wanted and followed the “rules” they denied my surgery because they changed the plan I wanted. I told them I don’t do drugs or anything but treated me like I was just strung out on drugs. They are more concerned about the safety of their practice than actually helping people in need. I denied the whole surgery already because 1 the communication was HORRIBLE they didn’t inform me of the address prior to visiting! They were neglectful and dismissive. Horrible p... read more
