I went to this school right smack in the pandemic the only person that helped me was Kirsti and a substitute teacher cuz our teacher bailed for the year. My second year we were in person and it broke me. I had no creative freedom with my teacher maris in any of my work my mental health got so bad without anyone’s knowledge that i would faint in class. I have nothing but the best memories from my years at JDD. Though I'm sure the staff & teachers have since changed since was there in 1996. Without the help from the teachers like Mary Lou, Patty & Marsha, plus, social workers Chris, Danny & Mark a.k.a. Potsy 😜, I would have dropped out of high-school in Grade 9 & never graduated as I did in 2001. My years at JDD were the best years I ever had at school & I'm grateful to be an Alumni
Incredibly traumatic. Do NOT send your kids here. The staff (especially the principal) emotionally manipulated me so I wouldn't break the rules. A horrible experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone. The teachers were really amazing, but it's not worth it when the rest of the staff were so awful.
