I decided to pursue medicine as a teenager. Prior to this decision, I wanted to be a teacher and believed that medicine was for more serious and scientific people. While working as a medical transcriptionist in high school, I quickly realized how rewarding medicine can be. I enjoyed learning about the detective work of assessing a patient and finding a diagnosis, as well as the humanitarian aspect of working with people when they are most in need. Great doctor who was excellent at explaining my condition and helping me to understand the next course of action. Although it is hard to get an appointment and the schedule is usually full, it is worth it!
Great visit in clinic with Dr. Vickers. She is warm and compassionate, and eager to listen and discuss all treatment options with me. Will certainly be seeing her again and sending my friends and family.
