I am very particular about my health care professionals. My partner and I had been with our respective dentists over 20 years; and only needed to find a dentist because we just can't drive into the city as often as we need to for the dental work we need to do. Dr. Sholer is a remarkable dentist: grounded, thoughtful, curious and very up to date on the latest innovations to make dentistry less painful and more effective. I do not post Google reviews often. So the fact that I am taking time out of my day to write one should tell you Dr. Jeffrey Sholer and his office are doing something very right. I started seeing Dr. Sholer after my previous dentist retired, and picking a new dentist is not exactly a casual decision. The whole thing is oddly intimate. Nice office, nice staff; but unfortunately Dr. Sholer started to become very greedy and glutinous, stopped taking all major insurance plans, charged really high prices and ran most of his clients away. Dr. Sholer is a good dentist, very likable and skilled, but I think his ego got the best of him when he started to think that people would be ok with paying really exuberant rates and not take insurance. I had bridge done here and he screwed up. Although a new bridge was done, I cannot use it. To chew. Need to see other dentist to fix it. During bridge preparation, they gave me sedation 2 times. And dentist was working with other patients here and there. Then when he came , the sedation was over and I felt all sensation and gave me another shot again.
