1st I met with Dr. Carlson who said I needed neck surgery. Both my wife and I explained that being a firefighter it is important that I recover to 100 percent. He assured me that I would and that I would be back to normal in approx. 10 days. I was going to have the surgery until they were registering me. This is where I got the truth. It is a min. of 6 to 8 weeks to lift 20 lbs. Dr Carlson will look you straight in the eyes and lie to you. He is a deceitful person with no character.
Business response:
John, we appreciate you taking time to respond. We take our reviews very seriously. Cervical spine surgery does require a 6 week lifting restriction of 20lbs. The cervical collar is only needed for 10 days. We're sorry for any miscommunication. We try to avoid those by using multiple modes of communication and written instructions so that everyone is on the same page before surgery. We fell short of your expectations and we are sorry. We're happy to help in anyway we can to make this right.
I believe Dr Carlson is God sent. I was practically paralyzed and had to have immediate surgery. My fear grew as I was about to go into the operating room, Dr Carlson explained everything clearly and accurately. I asked him" Dr Carlson, I can I trust you with my life? He said, yes you can" and so I was knocked out with anesthesia and faith in my heart. I can genuinely say Dr Carlson did a great job. I have my mobility and that's what I'm thankful for!
Dr. Carlson performed an anterior cervical discectomy on me in March 2016 after the discs between C5 and C7 ruptured and began pressing directly on the spinal cord. Dr. Carlson patiently answered all my questions over 2 visits, never rushing me into something I didn't understand or want. Seven months after the surgery I'm fully recovered, back to bicycling, hiking, kayaking, yoga, everything! I would recommend Dr. Carlson and his staff to members of my own family.
Decided to go to another route after my first fusion by a neurosurgeon. When pain came back after a few years, I was given no options, just constant dosages of Motrin. Then I heard about Dr. Carlson from a very dependable source in the medical field. As a former surgical tech of 20 years, I rely on word of mouth, not reviews. My surgery was March 2016, and after physical therapy and home health care, I feel great. Thank you Dr Carlson and staff for the excellent care I received!
The wait times are ridiculous. If you have an appointment with Carlson or McFarland, you need to be prepared to wait AT LEAST an hour before you are called back. Last Friday I waited 1.75 hours before I was even called back for the x-ray and then was sent back out to waiting room for another 15 min or so. The doctor spent around 2 minutes with me. I am so frustrated that these doctors think their time is more valuable than their patients. The girl who checked me in told me that “he double b
His patients die of blood clots after surgery.
I have severe degenerative disc disease from the L5 to the S1. I cannot stand nor sit for longer than 1 hour. Dr. Carlson said nothing could be done except for pain management. I asked about stem cell treatment or another alternative and he told me I was not a good candidate for anything except medication. Although he makes eye contact you can see the judgment for whatever sins he thinks you have in his eyes...my sin it's not being of high socioeconomic status for he is ALL about the money.
Dr. Carlson told me i could expect a full recovery and pain free. I came out of surgery screamimg from paim gpimg from buttocks down my leg where I never had any pain before. Dr Carson told me that he had moved and nerve and it was angry and it would settle into its new place and be fine. Dr Carlson did an x-ray and told me that I had a perfect surgery. But unfortunately he crippled me for life I can't even do menial things to take care of myself a little loan work ever again.
