Jazz and Ribs – Great jazz and great ribs from Blue Smoke upstairs. What more can you ask for?

Love the atmosphere, beautiful place, I really couldn't tell from the descriptions how classy it would be...wonderful music, great service.

THE Standard – JS has been set up to maximize audience comfort and enjoyment. The "rules" that have been instated provide an orderly, yet warm, environment. The staff is top notch. The food great. The selection of performers, outstanding. I love this place. I take my out of town guests here when they say "let's go see a show." Worth every penny.

wonderful! – I've only been to a handful of music venues in New York, but it would tough to imagine a better one than Jazz Standard. I highly recommend it. Somehow the space is set up so that you get a good, close view of the stage no matter where you are, and yet you don't feel like you are sitting in your neighbor's lap, either. It's intimate without being claustrophobic, and somehow manages to be both classy and relaxed! The food is delicious, the service is warm and attentive, and I like the faint scent of barbeque smoke... read more

Great Execution – Ok so you've been to the Iridium and the Blue Note and other Jazz joints that serve food and guess what...they all suck compared to my experience this evening tonight at the Jazz Standard. The waitstaff is quiet and attentive, the food is BBQ - who could ask for better - and the place is clean. You can really do dinner and take in a show at the same time. My one change would be to REMOVE HOME MADE POTATO CHIPS FROM THE jazz club menu...crunchy foods make no sense in that environment. Of course it doesn't sa... read more

Great club - only on a good night – The club in and of itself was quite distinctive. Large and classy however reserve yourself for a night when the entertainment is of better quality. The drinks were ok but the glasswear was reminisnce of grandma's old crap in the basement. For God sakes spend some money on decent flatware also. overall this place is great for a date and recommended. Very expensive though.

A Standard! – Saturday night with friends, enjoying the great tunes of Brazillian Jazz from Ray Vega and his band. Absolutely wonderful. The crowd is great; and definitely show an appreciation for the music. The desserts: what a treat! Delish!

All about the music – I've been 4 times, and never had a bad experience. The selection of acts is consistently excellent. The audience are jazz purists - this is as good as it gets. Not full of tourists like Blue Note. Food is good, but there's a disconnect with southern BBQ and sophisticated jazz. Service friendly & efficient. Love the fact that it's smoke-free in a jazz club. My favorite jazz venue in NYC.

jazz fingers – Blue Smoke, Jazz Standard, and a hot date are all you need in Manhattan on a Friday night. And really, the hot date ain't all that integral to the equasion.
