My wife came up with a good question. Since I have had this condition for 88 years, why do I need to have this surgery? I will still need to sit when I use the bathroom. Does it help the leaking and the urge to go?

Dr. Kim was cordial & described the procedure & some after care concerns (catheter). At my request he gave me a brochure on the Rezum procedure. When asked if the Rezum treatment probe IS long enough to properly treat a 100ml prostate, he said YES, though the brochure says it is for >50y/o men with prostate volumes between 30-80cm3. He explained that 2 drugs can be used to reduce prostate volume 1) Prostar inhibits 1 form of alpha reductase 2) Datasteride inhibits 2 forms of alpha reductase.
Dr. Kim is always cheerful, caring, and thorough. I am fortunate to be his patient.
He was on time and as always very thorough in his examination while discussing the specifics and recommendation. He is smart and is thorough and able to explain so I can understand. I have been seeing him and is one reason I keep coming back.
