I have had positive experiences at this clinic in the past, but my recent visit was extremely disappointing. I saw a nurse and doctor who I never saw in the past. I went in for an ear blockage, and the nurse attempted an ear lavage that was abandoned halfway through after physically scratching my ear canal and causing bleeding. When I brought this up, BOTH the doctor and the nurse refused to acknowledge the error and instead tried to shift the blame, making it sound like something was wrong with my ears. There's a huge disconnect when using the portal or calling. I really like Dr. Arthur Vermeulen. When I'm there for an appointment everything is great. It appears there is no ability to contact Dr. Vermeulen from home. Any contact is directed to "staff" which either by phone (which you can only leave a message) or portal email, I have no ability to talk to him by phone or have him call me back. I'm writing this to warn others about the appalling lack of professionalism and medical incompetence I experienced at this APLA Health location. After being referred for an acute injury documented by the ER, I was met with hostility, dismissiveness, and a total lack of regard for my recovery. Honestly, the best primary care providers i've ever had in Los Angeles. Dr. Arthur Vermeulen is by far the best doctor i've had. He's really great, attentive and kind. The phlebotomy team are so great too, i have deep vain's - it's always a struggle to draw blood, within 10 seconds of meeting the phlebotomy person and her realizing this was going to be difficult, 2 other people rushed in to figure out the best way to get blood without harpooning me multiple times. i felt really cared for and they were great. continued great ... read more
