I have a 5 year old son who started going to Dr. Castro first. We had taken him to several doctors in Tampa and just didnt feel comfortable with any of them. Dr. Castro is great with our son. He is straight to the point and a great Doctor. Myself and my husband changed all care to him within 4 visits. We love Dr. Castro@!!!
Dr Castro is very knowledgeable and he is truly concerned with the progression/regression of my chronic problems. He spends a great deal of time patiently explaining his concerns about my health. He also gives me ample time to express my opinions regarding his proposed plan of care. He is energetic and very positive. Would recommend him to my friends and family. Other reviews portray him as unfriendly, I did not find to be the case at all. He is actually funny and respectful of my time.
After reading some reviews about Dr. Castro, I was a bit skeptical. A lot of the reviews said, that he was short tempered and that he came off as annoyed to see patients, but my experience was the exact opposite! I felt extremely welcomed and like he took his time during the exam. He thoroughly explained what he was doing during the exam and my diagnosis. His attention to detail, thoroughness and great personality put me at ease!
Has a nurse that calls after each hospitalization and insists you make an appointment for a follow-up with him. When you get there, he seems surprised and annoyed to see you. Also, someone on the office staff repeatedly drops the ball when it comes to ordering medical supplies. May be a good doctor for people who are healthy, but I would not recommend that anyone with a chronic illness or a lifelong need for supplies for said illness have him as their Primary doctor.
Very happy and positive about patient care. Nice to finally find not only a physician who knows what they're doing but one that actually cares! I will be making him my new primary care physician.
