This collaboration of two of the city's most famed restaurateurs, Pat Kuleto and Traci des Jardins, is one of the most famous, most loved gourmet rooms in the Bay Area. Jardiniere is an example of sophisticated cuisine. The menu changes daily, but all of the dishes are likely to be excellent, if not perfect. Past offerings have included herbed lamb loin and filet of beef. This is definitely a luxury dining experience.

Be Prepared to leave with a Fat Belly – Had a lovely meal with fresh oysters to start and salmon as my entree. Both were fresh and scrumptious. Pots of Creme for desert topped off the night and a couple drinks. I left with quite the full belly. Best part is it wasn't packed until the symphony crowd arrived. Satisfying and romantic all at the same time.
Mum on Valentines – Finally got the chance to cross Jardiniere of my fine dining destinations list on Valentine's Day. I wanted to really like it, but I'm afraid, for the price, it's just okay. Flavors weren't complex, just kinda so-so and really salty - I'm someone who usually likes their food saltier than everyone else! Didn't find anything particulary "French" or "Fine" about the food. Other than that, service was first rate, meats were cooked just right, good portions. Stayed away from the tasting course/menu - read bad ... read more
Tasty Outing – We tried Jardiniere for a birthday dinner and were very happy with the food and service. The arugula, endive, and frizee salad was delicious as was the braised chicken and short ribs. All the deserts looked great and the two we selected, peach tart and almond torte, were fantastic. Service is deliberately relaxed to allow diners to enjoy the ambiance and their meal. Not appropriate for a quick bite.
Wonderful both inside and out – Even before I dined at the restaurant, I was awed at the simple yet captivating exterior designing. When I finanlly went there to eat, I was even more dazzled by the decor on the inside. I tried their 6-course meal and I have to say I was satisfied till the end. Very creative, very tasteful and very modern.
Very nice – The restaurant and service is extremely polished and refined, but not so that it was stuffy or unwelcoming. The 2nd floor calls on a better dining experience, a bit more quiet and romantic than the 1st, so make reservations. The food was prepared well, and the presentation masterful. For those that like the taste of duck, the chef has a few dishes that would satisfy. The price reflects the sophistication of the menu and decor, so be prepared.
Wow, just wow – I have never been dissappointed with Jardiniere's menu. It's great seasonal menu is worth checking in with from time to time. This place is a gem in SF's culinary world.
1st time in SFO. Used this service to locate good food. Jardiniere has excellent appetizers, salads and desserts. The entrees were OK. I had braised shortribs that was really pot roast and my wife had chicken - plain and bland. If I were to go again I'd order just the appetizers and make them my entree. We complained about the pot roast and the waiter was kind enough to remove from the bill. Good service.
Very Good – The food was excellent, perhaps the best rack of lamb I have ever had -- flavorful and very tender. The decor is interesting and elegant although I don't think art deco goes well with brick walls. Service was strained with so many theater-goers trying to get out the door but once they left, things were better.
Worth a return – Although I was VERY disapointed about the removal of the Foie Gras from the menu, I had a very positive experince and would return. I did the 6 course tasting menu ($75) with wine parings ($40). Although I felt the portion size small for the money, it was worth the cost to sample the range of the chef. The most memorable dish they had, was a sublime lobster w/ gnochi! Try it if it is offered. The poached oysters were a miss. The service was impecible, and when we felt a wine we were served was "corked", the ... read more
