I love Dr Cornwell. I am really sad that she is retiring this year and that I will have to find a new doctor but I am excited for her next adventure in retirement. I’ve been going to Matlock OBGYN since I was pregnant with my second child back in 2001. 19 years at the same OBGYN, 3 pregnancies, and all the other services they provide. The doctors and nurses I have interacted with over those 19 years have all been professional, caring and always listen to any concerns or questions you might have.
Dr. Cornwell is great. I’ve been a patient of hers for many years and she has always been wonderful.
I think she is the most knowledgeable, sweet, and compassionate lady I’ve ever known. She has been my obgyn for 23 years. She listens and takes your concerns seriously. She tells you the truth with compassion. I can’t believe she is retiring. I told her she is just going to have to figure it out; I can’t imagine going to anyone else. I wish her God’s speed. I went in for my third trimester appointment, but it's only the 2nd time I meet with this Doctor. I have been at this location a handful of times for lab work and such. But our first meeting seemed fine except for the fact that she told me I had the wrong Medicaid insurance plan. She explained that the plan I was on would not cover birth control postpartum and hardly anything else. Also that it would cost about $8,000 to have the surgery of tying my tubes which I wanted. Annual visit, Dr. Cornwell is and has been very professional and friendly. Always makes you feel very at ease. Would and will strongly recommend her.
I have been seeing Dr. Cornwell for at least 25 years. She and her nurse Melissa are the very best, most competent, and most compassionate. I now live 2 hours away, and I will continue to make the drive until Dr. Cornwell retires.
Dr. Cornwell and her staff are the best. I have been going to her for close to 30 years and cannot imagine going to anyone else. She listens to any concerns or questions you may have and doesn’t rush through your appointment. My teenage daughter has started seeing her and feels very comfortable with her and was able to have a good initial appointment without feeling anxious. I would (& do) recommend Dr. Cornwell to anyone looking for a new doctor.

I have been a patient of Dr. Janis Cornwell's for about 20 years. I am most happy with the care I receive from her. She and her staff are warm and friendly and the staff know their job responsibilities. She always takes time to listen to my concerns offering suggestions when needed. She has a sense of humor and knows how to put her patients at ease.
