My experience with Smile Design Dentistry of Gainesville (Smile Design Gainesville) was extremely disappointing and frustrating. I received a past-due bill that contained virtually no identifying information — no explanation of charges, no dates of service, no provider details, and not even the name of the dental practice. The only way I was able to determine the bill was supposedly for me was by searching the return address online. To make matters worse, the bill referenced a dentist I have never even met. IF you go to this practice, BEWARE…make sure you get the cost of services IN WRITING. We were told a total service was one amount, which was paid on the date of service. They then billed our insurance 3 times the amount!! After receiving the Insurance, they balance billed us the difference. Our invoice did not reflect our payment at all!! The backoffice has been totally unresponsive after contacting them numerous times in the past month. I would not recommend this dental practice.
The cleaning you get from Jorge is the best, most detailed cleaning I have ever received anywhere. I highly recommend Smile Design in Port Charlotte, FL! Very clean and extra care, all the staff are hard workers with compassion .
Total Rip-Off- Smile Design Dentistry charged me $150 for an Agingivectomy that my insurance clearly covers at no cost. When I questioned it with the practice manager, Ms. Jacqulyn basically said they didn't care what the insurance says-this is the way the corporation does business. and that they charged you on another occasion also. Blatantly unprofessional. Avoid this company unless you want to be overcharged and ignored!
Disappointed and Overcharged – Get a Second Opinion Before Coming Here I visited Smile Design Dentistry expecting a standard preventative cleaning, but was told I needed a “semi-deep cleaning” because my teeth supposedly didn’t qualify for a regular cleaning. Smile design Villages in Summer field don't know how to read insurance, they wanted to charge me 30 percent more and they have hidden fee, it's a scam. Nobody follow up with me even after my insurance send them my paperwork twice. Their office is so dirty, they make you wait in a small room, no water, filthy floors and grouchy front desk. Stay as far away as you can from this place. Went in for a cleaning, was told I needed a crown (I had no issues with my teeth, I literally went in for a free cleaning included in my insurance). They started the crown process, gave me a temporary crown and I’ve been in excruciating pain ever since. I now need a root canal. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! I’ve spent close to 2k trying to fix their mess, not to included all the days I’ve missed from work.
