The managing broker, Katie Roberts, told me today that they typically charge anywhere from 4-22% commission! Can you believe it?! 22% Commission! When I expressed my complete shock, she gloated saying, "Yes, if the clients agree to pay us that!" I told her that is grossly greedy and unethical, and it skews home market values. She denied it was greedy and said it was completely ethical. These brokers here are like vampires. Stay away. They do NOT have your best interest in mind.
Even though listing agents typically charge an average of 1-2.5% commission, Tamara Duckler and Beth Hager charged their clients 5.56%, just for "representing" the sellers for a property valued at about $1M, with no multiple offers and an excellent offer well over asking just a day after listing. This amounted to $56,420. As a self-represented buyer, we signed a No Agency agreement, so that Tamara and Beth would not also misrepresent me.
