About this business

My surgical practice teaches me that technical skill is the mastery of the complex. It takes years and a lot of listening and experience to understand the nuances of joint resurfacing and replacement surgery. Surgical technique is not a commodity that can be bought or sold. I look carefully at my outcomes and publish my results in peer reviewed journals. Survivorship of a patient and implant is not synonym for true wellness. Resumption of a completely autonomous lifestyle and return to all activities is the goal. My favorite... read more

I am a female runner and at age 50 I found out that I have severe arthritis in my hips due to bilateral dysplasia. The surgeons near my home pushed total replacements on me and condemned me for my desire to continue running and for wanting hip resurfacing as a female. I was blessed to find Dr Pritchett through an online search and from the first contact with him I could tell that he really cares about doing what is best for his clients and has the experience and expertise to solve problems and get desired results. I had my r... read more

I damaged my knee several years ago. About two years ago, it became apparent I would need a knee replacement. I started researching orthopedic surgeons, and was impressed with Dr. James Pritchett's professional published writings and, upon meeting him, was pleasantly surprised by his complete candor when answering my many questions (I brought a list). Each answer was very comprehensive & explicit, which led to more questions, that he thoroughly and gracefully answered. I am very pleased with my surgery and glad I chose Dr. P... read more

Brilliant man. Replaced both my knees. One of the very few Dr's who performs the cruciate ligament retaining knee replacement. Both my knees bend beyond 130 degrees, really full motion, with no restrictions. And the new components will never wear out.

Words do not suffice to thank Dr. James W. Pritchett for his brilliant skills and display of excellency when performing my left total hip joint replacement. My pain is gone when before I had constant 24/7 pain due to severe advanced arthritis. Duong Tran, his assistant surgeon, and his M.A. Susan K. also contributed immensely to my care. Dr. Pritchett accepted me as a candidate despite having contracted shingles several weeks prior. Also, I am overweight and he still did not refuse to operate. I am overwhelmed and so very gr... read more

Attention to detail... his whole life is centered around his work.he did a hip resurfacing on left and right and then full hip in right two weeks in on resurface. I rolled over in bed with too much force and two days later it gave way and broke femoral neck no pain. The doctor and his team fixed me up with a full hip with a 44mm ceramic ball with crosslink polymer cup.I would go to him over and over again. I refer people all the time.shoulders, knees, hips he is the best. Does all his own on call.

Dr. Pritchett Performed a Hip Re-Surfacing on my Right Hip 1 Year ago. I could not be happier, the Recovery was Fast. Do the Physical Therapy in Full. 100% success after years of Chronic Hip Pain. I would Highly recommend Dr. Pritchett for a Hip Re-Surfacing.

Does not listen and is not thorough. I went in with hip pain after a weightlifting injury. Had a poorly done x-ray and was turned away after a lecture about being overweight causing my problem and told to go to a PCP. After 2.5 years of chronic pain and thousands of dollars in debt due to misdiagnosis, I've just had a competent specialist find that I have FAI as well as hip labral tears. You are born with FAI, or it is formed in childhood. If you're overweight, do not go to this man.

I'm 42 and need both hips resurfaced, I searched for over a year before I found Dr. Pritchett. I met with him and he was very understanding of my situation and worked with e to reach the 35% BMI needed for a better chance of a good outcome. He answered every question I had and was very thorough explaining my options. I had my Left hip resurfaced on January 31st 2017. 3 months in and everything is perfect. Very happy with the Dr. and the staff, can't wait to get my Right hip done.
