I drove over two hours to get my truck to James. He rebuilt the transmission in my 2006 Dodge 2500. It has 299,000 miles and runs like a top, thanks to James. The quality of his work is worth the drive. Read up on the diesel truck blogs and you will find lots of references to James. He is widely known as the best transmission guy. He knows his craft and he will fix what other shops can’t even diagnose.
I can say enough about the trans rebuild James did for my Excursion. The 5r110 is quirky but he understands what it takes to make a solid, reliable trans. I've had the truck since new and I'm not easy on it. I can honestly say it's never run this good, and that's running it stock or with 2 of the tunes I normally run. Around town, short trips, it's getting about 1.5 MPH better also. After throughly trashing my stock 96 Dodge diesel transmission hauling heavy,I was in desperate need of a reliable transmission rebuild. James recommendation in 2002 of a full billet transmission is still going strong after 17 more years of abuse including adding engine power upgrades. Truck was retired from goose neck hauling in January with 2 employees in bidding war to buy “old dependable”. No such thing as a weak Dodge transmission from James!

I went all over Midlothian looking for someone to work on an Ecodiesel I had. I didnt really know what the problem was, but as soon as James got his hands on the truck, he knew exactly what happened. James was extremely knowledgeable and quick to get my truck back on the road. I have now found my diesel mechanic for life.
YESSSSS he built my second gen trans and I put that sucker through hell and it never had one problem!! I totally wish I had him build the one in my third gen bc it’s been nothing but problem after problem :((
James has built my 48re for my 5.9 Cummins. This transmission is holding up great my truck dynos 643Hp and 1228 torque. It's my daily driver and is not babied. Max it has towed was 40,160 gross. James does quality work on everything he has done for me.
