Speaking for myself I am surprised to see negative reviews of Jim's work. I have worked with Jim for more than 30 years off and on. I have participated in 3 different groups and seen him off and on for individual therapy. While there were times he would say things to me that I did not want to hear, in retrospect they were always things I needed to hear. This is, after all, what therapy is all about. After thirty years, the relationship between a therapist and a patient is by definition going to be strong. Jim has reinforced ... read more

Similar to like when a personal trainer teaches exercises that don’t work knowing the client will fail and keep coming back, while enjoying the financial benefit and the undeserved commitment of the client to him.. funny how Leone repeated “commitment” to the group as what he wanted most.. makes sense.. you need to pay rent and have a full weekly patient load.. you want to tell clients some blabber they will like, you want to make them lose interest in any competition to yourself that would make them them wonder away as a be... read more

He knows that if his patients follow his advice they’ll be alienated from all of their social networks, which will leave them dependent on him and that group - which benefits him. It’s high level psychopath instincts, like I’ve said many times.

You know instead of teaching us like some people try to be clever and make a decision to do what is most advantageous to them when interacting with people and to avoid any potential disadvantage through harm to another person, Leone taught us to blurt out things that will hurt others and make them alienated and not want to be around us, which will put us in a bad situation for ourselves - worse than if we kept our mouth shut and only said things that were advantageous.. so he was like training us to be doing something that ... read more

Yes, Leon's group is a cult, a perverted reaction and weird ways of thinking in response to people and weird manipulations in regards to people that make them feel bad is a signature of his cult.

Vladimir Putin would make a better therapist. Leon doesn’t care, is unfixable and not worth fixing, and is a menace to society.

Besides keeping a patient for 10+ years in therapy being a questionable practice due to 'no effect' or 'dependence on therapist', let me explain my other concerns. Firstly, Dr Leone told me in individual therapy “I will be sadistic if you let me.” This is in conflict with APA ethics code 2.06, "Personal Problems and Conflicts - When psychologists become aware of personal problems that may interfere with their performing work related duties adequately, they take appropriate measures, such as obtaining professional consultatio... read more

Moreover, he plays onto narcissism of the members, like if you Google 'narcissistic abuse,' he encourages others to cause pain to another member of the group, usually singled out. So he is instructing group members and guiding them to do narcissistic abuse on each other. It kind of feels good, he then tells this is productive and will eventually lead to transformative, change, because he knows, and that for this to work, you have to let your guard down and blindly trust his method. Unfortunately, this may be unintentional fr... read more

Unlike whoever wrote the last FIVE reviews, suspiciously all produced within one week, I was actually in Dr. Leone’s group. I saw him individually twice per week, and in group once per week.. Previous reviewer were right. His therapy was traumatic. If not for the pressure I received from well-intended family, not to mention Dr. Leone’s own hard-sell tactics (think cult leader), I would have left after 1 or 2 months. Dr. Leone encourages people to speak abusively to each other, not assertively. I heard him refer to a squabble... read more
