Humiliation, sadism, manipulation, experiments - and these are just things he admitted to - wasn’t in the group sign up sheet with rules. Sounds like the rules were for the clients, but for him it was anything was allowed. Including stuff banned by the APA and Board of Psychologists.
He demeaned a member of the group in front of other members of the group by calling them pathetic….this is not mental health therapy. This 40-year career arrogant therapist has preyed on the weak and never crossed someone with enough pride or spite.
Yes - devious, abusive, and teaching abuse. Presenting abuse as therapy. Being devious with patients while telling them to be open and honest, fishing out vulnerabilities they shared, and using what they shared to further manipulate and humiliate them. That was some clients' main complaint to him. And he said apparently the therapy 'process' was Leon being devious, abusive, and manipulative and us letting him do it, and if we didn't like it, we were problematic patients who weren't ready to do the 'work' - which was us telli... read more
Yes, the result of his cuing and direct instruction, I went from a polite, diplomatic and well liked person - to one who lashes out, is quick to abuse, goes around people's backs (like Leon did in group all the time), unfairly unleashes negative emotions and their own issues on people, is too arrogant to see that, and is seeking an abusive relationship one that mirrors their patient-Leon relationship with Leon abusing them and them being submissive and taking it, believing it, and coming back to him.
Some of the tactics he modelled-used-instructed: 1. catching people off guard 2. lashing out freely without regard for consequences 3. not thinking before you speak 4. being openly abusive to people and saying it somehow 'may be good' 5. imagining-seeking-suspecting incestuous, paranoid, conniving secret psychological plots against you among immediate family members 6. confronting people 7. not aiming to say things in a tactful and gentle manner 8. being stupidly arrogant about your own incorrect beliefs and attitudes 9. des... read more
Yes, he was constantly seeking a vulnerability in people, abusing it and doing things to people without them understanding what is being done to them, while appearing very charming and friendly.
He seemed obsessed with abusing a vulnerability in people be it shyness, low social astuteness, looks, being an abused woman, a minority, elderly, being parishioner in a church or here is the kicker.. being a patient! Yes, he made a perverse disturbing joke about how he thinks nurses withhold bedpans from annoying patients! I was appalled and my jaw dropped. He then instructed me to tell my grandma with dementia that she is “scary and unpleasant” which were his exact words. He violated state mandated dementia care which is p... read more
the change in my internal drive to something against people was insane. i cant believe it either. i got convinced by him. and i think i know why. the baseline was that life around me was wrong. family members had personality problems that were worrisome to me. and i had developmental social deficits. Leon offered opposing people as a bridge toward a solution and just kept modelling and encouraging this train of thought. so foundation (wrong life), solution offered (opposing people, going around people's backs, inducing fake ... read more
Anyone who uses phrases he did like, 'This is just getting started,' and 'This is the perfect place,' and talks to people in third person like, 'X is...' while sitting in front of them - is a manipulative salesman, not a therapist who passes basic due diligence standards.
