Jim Miller is a professional and very knowledgeable appraiser. There is a review on this site from someone that never used him as an appraiser and still was able to complete a review with one star with a complaint about Jim taking a photo of their house. All appraisers take photos of the sales, this is not creepy, it is part of the job. Appraisers are not able to use MLS photos in the appraisal for almost all reports.
Great guy all around. Personable and extremely knowledgeable about the area. He has lived here his entire life and seems to be related to half the city. I would recommend anyone to go to James Miller.
I am a family law attorney in Ventura County and I have had the pleasure of working with Mr. Miller on numerous appraisals as part of my divorce practice. Mr. Miller is fast, efficient, and reasonably priced, and is considered by both attorneys in the area and the Judges to be an expert in the field of residential real estate appraisal. I will gladly use Mr. Miller in the future and I whole-heartedly recommend him to others.
Mr. Miller was caught taking photographs of my residence. When confronted and asked if he had permission to do so, he said he didn't need permission. This is completely unacceptable. If he is truly doing an appraisal for another residence, he can get photographs off the MLS. Mr. Miller was incredibly rude and unprofessional to the young woman who confronted him and to myself when I called him.
