I went to Dr. Meeker with a spiral fracture of my distal fibula. Dr. Meeker did not push surgery on me, but explained what my injury actually is, the issues my specific injury causes, the ways to address the injury, and the likelihood of various outcomes with different treatment to me clearly and left the decision completely up to me. I elected to have my injury addressed by surgery and now have 7 screws and a plate in my ankle that Dr. Meeker and his amazing surgery and anesthesia team at OHSU installed.
