I came to MedStar ER with a shattered talus bone, it was a severe fracture from bouldering. I first met a resident from Dr. Wisbeck's team who was tasked with performing my reduction. I had never broken a bone before and did not know what a reduction was. Nobody explained what was about to happen, I was not any given pain medication, and my reduction began without warning. I went to my appointment and was pretty disappointed. I was there for about 5 minutes. I didn’t even see Dr. Wisbeck. I only saw his PA. This wasn’t the issue though, as his PA was very friendly. I injured my foot 2 weeks ago and finally decided to go to urgent care a few days ago. I was informed by the doctor at urgent care that I needed to go to Dr. Wisbeck to see if he could do an MRI of my left foot where there is a suspected stress fracture. Dr.J.Wisbeck. was very warm and kind listened,and just did his job nice guy. A very pleasant visit can't say the same for the check in clerk.
I was nervous but his staff made me feel very comfortable. They were understanding and kind. This is my first injury that’s taking me from Weightlifting & CrossFit and Dr. Wisbeck understood my concern. He was honest but also ensured me he will help me get back to what I love to do.
