Sooo, from my understanding, they apparently didn't have everything in place to actually be able to do the surgery. So they saw him, sent him to a different doctor for an evaluation prior to the surgery which expires after 90 days, and failed to or couldn't schedule the surgery before the expiration period making both appointments pointless. My grandpa was supposed to be having cataract surgery here, but it's been months and they won't make the appointment. Their explanation is that it hasn't been approved through Medicare yet, but Medicare assures us that it doesn't need to be approved. Seeing them was a waste of time and money. I see why they have awful reviews now.
Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. McGuffey has always been very helpful and knowledgeable about my eyes and is very compassionate.
I ve not had a bad experience with JEA. From the front desk, the techs and my doctor, Mark Kosko, everyone has been professional and courteous. I’ve had 2 surgeries with great outcomes. I have never felt rushed. I would recommend JEA without reservation.
