Recently stayed at Sentinel Hotel and went down to Jack Knife (the lobby bar if you can call it that) and had cocktails and food on two of the five nights we were in town. The crowd was a mix of young to old(er) like myself. The service was good, food was great, and the price wasn't out of line versus what I expected looking at how nice the place is. I saw some other reviews about bad service and I didn't see anything like that going on.
Bouncers are completely out of line and unnecessarily rude. I've been to this bar 4 times in the past month. At my most recent visit they would not let me in because they said my ID was fake and hinted that I could get in if I gave them money.
One of my favorite bars in Portland for sure! The drinks are amazing and made with creativity, detail and care. It's beautiful, attached to an amazing hotel, and has the best photo booth I have ever seen.
I try and make it to Jacknife on average about once a month . This place is awesome . Very friendly and welcoming employees . They are good with remembering a regular like myself and I always have a great time there whether it's with friends or by myself . Great music and drinks and a beautiful decor inside as well .
I have never been treated so inhumanly before. The bouncers are the worst! I honestly don't know how they live with themselves. They would not let my husband and I in for no reason at all. We tried to go for a night cap after dinner since we were staying at the hotel. They were rude and just straight up mean. No one deserves to be treated like that.
