Can't have it your way – I will never go there again. I went to get a take out order because some friends at work had recommended it. I ordered an Udon dish and asked for an extra side of meet with it. It's normal for a nominal extra charge. They flat out refused. I have never had that happen before. I would understand the high prices if the food is good and the service is even nominal but the service is not user friendly.

Done with the YUPPY sushi joints.. this place rules – All I can say is either Izumi was having a bad night or the people writing the negative reviews don't know Japanese food. Izumi has been around for decades for a reason, they do Japanese food right. Nobody makes a Spider roll like they do and the seafood is a fresh as you can get it. They do get busy and I'd avoid the 6 - 7pm timeframe.

great sushi – This is the best sushi on the Eastside. It is a little more expensive than some places but worth every penny.

Best food in Seattle – I absolutely love this place. I would eat here every day if I could. If you enjoy Japanese food, this is the place for you.

problems with food.. – My girlfriend wanted to get some Japanese food for dinner a few days ago, so we went to Lzumi. Food was okay...but, it wasn't what I expected with the money I paid for.. However, yesterday, she and I went to Sushiya and it was very impressive. As soon as we walked into the place, people, who were working at the sushi bar, were greeting us. As far as food go, I was expecting a little less from them. However, it is one of the best Sushi I had for a long time. It is not too big, but not too small. It's a ... read more

If this is the best Sushi on the Eastside I better move back to California – Just to let you know where I'm coming from, my favorite sushi restaurants are the two omakase places on Sawtelle in Los Angeles - Sasabune and Hiko. Some accuse those places of using too much sauce or pandering, but that's what I like. I ordered the omakase at Izumi and was revolted. I suppose I shouldn't have expected much since it was half the price of Sasabune or Hiko, but still. The toro and shrimp were good but the rest ranged from average to h... read more

Eastside alternative to downtown Seattle's pricey, crowded sushi joints. – In Short Tucked into Kirkland's taco-and-burger land, the restaurant is its own self-contained world. Just part the dark-blue half-curtain inside the front door to find competent servers in traditional sea-green kimonos. Roe enthusiasts may sample the eggs of four different sea creatures. Makunouchi--a feast of sushi, sashimi, tempura, teriyaki and cooked vegetables in a lacquer box--comes in two sizes at dinner.

Beste Japanese / Sushi Restaurant on the East Side – Still my favorite, a real taste of Japan I've been to many Japanese resaturants (ILoveSushi, SushiLand, Wasabi, etc) in WA but Izumi is my favorite. I like it because its very authentic. The Sashimi was great, we had a variety of sushi which was also very tasty. Service was good considering how busy it was. I definitely recommend it

Most horrible sushi night in Seattle – I've only lived here for a year now, but I've tried many sushi places, and decided to try Izumi based on the citysearch rating and another acquaintance of mine recommended it. I will definitely not go back. The place was dead, yet the service was the slowest we've ever received anywhere. They completely forgot our edamame order, then brought it out freezing cold, and the hamachi was so fishy and had skin and tons of fat on it. Yuck!
