I crave this chowder sometimes.
The employees were great! They were very accommodating and kind. The restaurant was extremely clean. Unfortunately, the food was not worth it. We ordered the cod fish and chips and the baby prawns with fries. Our food was cold and our French fries were soggy.

The food is standard fare, but the chowder is decent. What sets the place apart is the genuinely friendly employees who know many customers by name. Relaxing hot meal in a family friendly place!
After 30+ years of eating at Ivar's this was my first unpleasant experience. The Chowder is AMAZING as usual, but the portions of fish in the fish and chips is smaller. The fries were extremely disappointing. I don't want crispy fries that vinegar just runs off of. This goes against everything I believe in and makes me question my faith.
