This review is for the Clifton Park location. I've been there 4 times, the food has been consistently very good. Unfortunately the service there has been poor. Service has been poor (and not rude), because the staff was pleasant, but you should expect to wait - and wait to be greeted. Expect to wait - and wait for your check. We were looking to try something different so stopped in Instanblue in Clifton Park. Worst mistake ever! It was a Friday and the place was empty. There were 3 servers, non of which were over the age of 18. No owner, no manager. It took 20 minutes to get a server to come to our table and take our hors d'oeuvres order. Then an additional 10 minutes to bring the pita bread and humus. After 45 minutes, we finally got our "fried calamari". This was NOT fried calamari. their clifton park location is a must see. Great food (i am turkish so i know), great ppl.
It is great to see an ethnic place in Saratoga that does not serve dumbed down "fusion" cuisine and I am very glad it is succeeding. The octopus appetizer is a must... tender, tart and delicious. Skip the mixed appetizer which are predictable Middle Eastern favorites. Instead try a few of the adventurous items on the Turkish menu. Check on the BYOB policy: when they first opened they would open your bottle (from Purdy's next door) for free but there may be corkage now.
