I have been coming here for many years and it's been very pleasant. My only complaint is the long wait times and the terrible experience I had with an employee. My dog needed surgery and I was told to arrive between 8-815. I arrived at 7:55 to make sure I didn't arrive late. I waited outside and when an employee came to let me inside another employee immediately began to complain about how people arrive at 8 and they shouldn't be coming so early and it's so inconvenient. I can’t say enough about the staff at Island especially Dr. Balbour and Dana. I recently had to make a tough decision with my Cat and it was very emotional. When the staff gets choked up, helps you feel good about tough decisions and never once steers you in the wrong direction you know you are in good hands. I can’t thank them enough and there is no one I would trust more with my Fur babies than Island Veterinary Hospital.
I ve been using Dr. Balbour since she first started as a Vet at Farmingville Animal hospital, many many years ago. She s very compassionate about her patients /animals. Very sweet lady.
I have six dogs and continue to use Dr Balbour. She is wonderful and caring. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a vet with professionalism, passion, and true caring for their pet and family.
We were looking for a local Vet for our new puppy and came across Dr B and the staff at IVH. They were all so professional and personable and made us feel extremely comfortable with our choice. Definitely a great match for us and our girl!
