Amazing ER staff! They have the best bedside manner I have seen in any hospital!
Waited nearly five and a half hours in ER to have a cut in my son's head stitched up. Finally got back in to a room where we waited and waited and waited and finally just left. Went home and cleaned it up myself and put butterfly bandages on it. This used to be a great quick place to go and wouldn't go any where else, but after this experience I am very dissapointed. Two weeks ago I had knee surgery at Island Hospital. I am grateful for the care I received .Everyone who cared for me was great and professional and nice. T knee is coming along well.
I was charged almost $15 for the nurse to hand me one of my own oral medications while I was having an outpatient procedure at Island Hospital. My insurance doesn't cover it so I had to pay out of pocket in addition to my $200 copay. They wouldn't waive the charge either. Be very careful at this facility! Also, when I was there the nurse took my temperature a dozen times and the thermometer gave a different reading each time, sometimes a difference of 2 degrees. Want to give a shout out to the awesome staff at island hospital surgery team, physical and occupational therapy and especially all men and ladies of nurse's station south . I had unexpected hard time day two of my four day stay back spasms for like 18hrs which caused me to sprain my neck whiplash. Their determination and care got me the the right stuff.
