My husband and I visited San Diego for our anniversary last weekend and ate dinner here based on a friend's recommendation. Everything was so delicious! We had the shrimp toast, which was buttery delicious with yummy toasted bread; octopus with chorizo, that had a really nice mix of flavors, he had a whole fish that was so tender and full of flavor and I had a cup of clam chowder, which was so rich and creamy without being over the top. Osters were outstanding and my halibut was cooked to perfection. It could have been a little bigger but was delicious!
The lobster rolls are the best - BIG chunks of lobster, soft tasty rolls. I have only experienced a lobster roll once, in Boston - as I was told where there I had to try one. Ironside beat Boston. I ordered one with French fries and a gin martini - very good. Don't like the seating at this place at all. The stools at the bar are the most uncomfortable seat EVER! and not much better at the bar tables. Too bad - I would have stayed longer and ordered another martini, but my bottom hurt.
