horrible experiance – I
Don't waste your time!!! – I had dinner at Irma's last night with a friend, and while it's fresh on my mind I wanted to share my experience. No problem getting a table at 7:00pm as the place on had about 6 tables taken (that should have been a sign). We had to ask twice to be seated before anyone paid any attention to us; once seat the waiter started pushing margaritas before we even said welcome. We ordered one margarita and a beer, and they were finally delivery about 7-8 minutes later along with some chips and two types o... read more
a total RIP OFF – They claimed they didn't have menus and just gave us their offerings out loud. Later I learned they did have ones with lower prices than they charged us. We were from out of town and they took us. . The food was okay but just average and OVER PRICED!!!!
Way too Expensive – The food was good, but not $15+ per head good. Add a drink per person and our tab was over $95 for 4 people. They are MENULESS, which should have been a BIG RED FLAG since they don't bother to mention prices!!! Our server was average, but the manager was really cool (He made conversation with everyone coming in and out of the restaurant). If your going to spend that kind of money before an Astros game, just keep walking to Vic and Anthony's a couple of blocks over for a steak...
Editorial Review – Small upscale bistro serves downtown lunch-goers and Astros fans from a short and ever-changing Tex-Mex and southwestern menu.
Absolute waste of money and time – Where to begin....the service was horrible--only about 4 waiters for the entire place during lunch hour. It is a "menuless" restaurant, meaning they only had 4 choices the day we went. These weren't posted outside, nor were any prices posted or mentioned. The food was horrible. Additionally, the portions are tiny for the amount they charge. It is way way way overpriced. I will never go back and don't recommend this place to anyone. What a ripoff!
Too Expensive – I have been to the restaurant a couple of times. The food and service are excellent. The portions could be larger. The food is way too expensive.
Excellent! – My girlfriend and I had the great pleasure to eat at The Southwest Grill. We were walking around downtown houston looking for a place to eat and stumbled upon this place. The service was excellent and the food was even better. We will be eating there again. And yes, there is not an actual menu they give you. The server's recite the menu to you at your table. There is not a large selection but do not let this keep you from trying this great place. The value is incredable. The meal was worth twice as much as what ... read more
caveat diner – This place sucks. No menu, unwarranted high prices, small cocktails at high prices, poor food, marginal service. I'll never go back--I'm even reluctant to revisit Irma's old restaurant.
