Stay away from Dr Hitson and Well Star Hospital. Me husband was discharged after a week in the hospital he went in with one ailment an obstructed bowl and came out with another. Two days after being discharged I just knew something was wrong. My husband couldn’t take a deep breath so I brought him up to Atlanta Piedmont hospital to find out he was in kidney failure. I have been a patient with Hitson since way before they ever moved to their new office. Now I am officially done with their customer/patient no service. Early Feb. I had a fall and went in and seen a nurse practitioner (haven`t been able to see Dr. Hitson himself in years) and had MRI`s scheduled and done. A week later I called and could get no answers on results, or a call back. I finally said to heck with it and went by Griffin MRI (great bunch) and picked up my results. I have never had to wait long to get in. They've always been nice and friendly, especially Dr Chewning and his staff. There's only one nurse practitioner I've seen that I felt was a little unprofessional and dismissive. I'm glad we have this place.
I have "been" a patient of Dr. Hitson's for about 3 years and yet I have yet to see him! Would not know him if he sat next to me right now. I only seen his PA, who has the most rotten "bedside" manner. I will not return.
