Shady business model. Their website states (among other things) "All sellers are required to register. Our team reviews their identity and verified their contact information." I have people calling me long after my vehicle was sold and CL ad was removed. Contacted support, which said "at times we aggregate listings from Craigslist. Great site, I’m in the market for a car and it’s way nicer than what else is out there. I like that they pre screen the cars and I know who I’m dealing with. Keep up the good work guys
They're stealing previous adds off of Craigslist that are years old, reposting all the information and pictures on their own website. Now I have people contacting me about a vehicle I traded into Honda a longgggg time ago. These guys are scammers and crooks, AVOID THEM!
I was contacted by people who said that they saw my car for sale and got my contact info on Instamotor. I never posted my car for sale on Instamotor. They talk about there fraud prevention and how they screen all of there vehicles. How is that possible if they are posting a car that is not for sale that I had posted once on craigslist 6 months ago. Don't trust this app.
Just bought my first car using the app, and had an amazing experience. I was initially really nervous about buying a used car. I know there are a lot of ways to get ripped off if you use Craigslist, etc. When a friend recommended this to me, I was weary of the app too, but ended up loving it. It felt safe and reputable, they provided all the details on the history of the car I decided on (which seems accurate) and saved me from what I thought was going to be a really stressful process
