My mom moved into memory care here in early July, back when it was Vernon Springs. It was clean and well staffed, and it felt like a big family. Staff, residents, and families all knew each other, and there was a real sense of community. New management took over at the end of July and renamed it Viva. They let go many of the staff we knew, and things went downhill very fast. I visited every week and saw it myself. Viva took over Vernon Springs two months ago and it has been going downhill ever since. Admin doesn't have time for the residents. The workers that are there are doing their best but they are overworked and highly short staffed. The new people they are hiring aren't staying. The night shift is horrible about responding. Meds are not being given on time if received at all. The food quality and offerings are not tasty. I would not recommend anyone new moving in, some long time residents are moving out. My father had been a resident at Vernon Springs for 4 years until we lost him last week. We loved everything about Vernon Springs from the management, to the caregivers, to the chef who prepared him 3 meals daily. I highly recommend Vernon Springs.

The team at Vernon Springs goes above and beyond. During a very difficult time for our family, Vernon Spring's caring staff has worked to ensure that my mother is well cared for in a safe and loving environment. It may not be the biggest facility, but it is the best as far as I am concerned. HIGHLY recommend.
