I had my gallbladder surgery yesterday. I will say that everyone in the facilty was very nice. I am thankful to have had such great doctor and a great surgical team.
The care from the front desk staff, nurses, and doctor was terrific - 10 stars. Couldn’t imagine better care. (“Fun” seems a weird way to describe it but the nurses were amazing.) The billing was 0 stars. The amount we were quoted for a colonoscopy was doubled to the penny without explanation, just people in billing going on and on about codes. This is my first experience with Northern Virginia Surgery Center and my first colonoscopy so I was understandably nervous for my procedure. Everyone I encountered yesterday from the front desk staff, registration, pre-op, surgical team, to recovery etc treated me with such patience and kindness. The doctor and nurse deserve a five-star review for the excellent care they provided to my mom. Their professionalism, kindness, and attention made a difficult time much easier, and we are truly grateful for that. However, the billing department and front desk agents has been extremely chaotic and frustrating to deal with. Before her surgery, my mom unfortunately lost her insurance.
