Dr. Hinton is beyond thorough and addressed my medical issues as a full body matter, versus the narrow lense all my former doctors have passed my problems off with. She is compassionate, but views things from an individualized basis, not the average. I am very glad to have found her.
Dr. Hinton is very experienced and knowledgable in her field. She is very straightforward, which I understand why some people feel that she's harsh. But just ask her and she always answer.
Do not see her if you are anxious! I am a victim of sexual assault, and she didn't seem to care that I had some psychological issues with being in a compromising position. She has no bedside manner, and she will passively put you down for being overweight, even if you have PCOS, which makes it difficult to lose weight. The office is bad with follow ups and they've lost my labs before!
I was skeptical at first with all the negative reviews but let me just say I was very impressed with Dr. Hinton. She was kind, considerate and very understanding. Yes she tells it how it is but was not harsh in anyway or rude when delivering information. She met with me and had a conversation in her office before the exam to introduce each other. I did not feel rushed. I felt she listened and reassured me. I would highly recommend.
Dr. Hinton was the only doctor to help me manage my PCOS. She also helped me get pregnant after having fertility issues. Not gonna lie...she tells it like it is. So to some it may come off as cold or harsh. But she truly cares for her patients, and will do what she can for them.
She performed a surgery on me and diagnosed me with a serious disease but gave me no information on it. When I cam to her telling her I had severe pain for this disease she told me it was all in my head. I have never felt so disregarded and pushed aside in my whole life. No patient should be told that what they are feeling isn't real.
Dr. Hinton has been my gynecologist for over 20 years. I have always felt I received excellent care from her...having had a surgery by her and annual check-ups. However, over the past 3 years I have experienced unprofessional assistance at the front desk . No one returned my calls and refills were not filled. Sometimes I have not received a call in return . Now, you must leave a message to speak to someone, for emergencies or routine appointments. I never received a return call after 3 days
Her bedside manner is cold and flat - and she uses words like “cooties” when talking about STDs She’s cold and detached - shows no empathy for patients and is combative or aloof when discussing contraceptive or treatment options. Doesn’t listen well. Rushes through exams.
