IPFW ought to be run like the educational institution that it was created to be rather than a business. Education needs to come first, not a failing athletics department. You are taking away education opportunities and acting as if the degrees of those in the programs that you are taking away are insignificant and insufficient. Your ads claim that you care about individual students, but you don't care about a single one of us, you only care about your paychecks.
While I loved my time at IPFW, I can not support the dismantling of liberal arts that is occurring at my Alumni. I grew up in a area of Pennsylvania that did not have affordable public liberal arts education. I've seen this story play out in my hometown and it had detrimental effects on the economy and lives of people. I can not support a university that is repeating this story.
Clearly the university has little to no regard for its student body. Until learns to consider this community's need for access to a well rounded education it will not receive a dime from me.
Chancellor Vicky Carwein and the Purdue Board of Trustees have mismanaged this school on colossal levels.
I am saddened by the closure of the Women's Studies, Philosophy, German and French programs. I used to respect this school and now I feel like IPFW has failed this community.
I am disappointed in your choice on teaching Sociology. I wonder how you justify tuition cost to the same poor and under privileged....minus those playing on sports scholarships.
