I signed myself out even tho I needed a pace maker put in. The staff assumed that I had drugs in my purse. In the morning of sep 9th I was worried about what was going to happen when I got my pace maker in place. I was scared and anxious so the nurse gave me ativan thru my iv to try and calm me down. Which it did so I fell asleep. Worst mistake was feeling that I was safe enough to fall asleep. I was woken up with a nurse a 2 security guards at my bedside. I had an anxiety attack which was bad. Went to IRMC hospital. ER was empty. I was taken down a long darker hallway in a room that led to the bare and small room. Cold. No care had been give. I lay there waiting and 40 minutes later my husband and I decided we needed to leave. Why? I needed emergency care! Where was everyone? What if I had another episode? No sympathy at all from anyone. I want to share my experience to the ER of the Indiana regional medical Center. From the beginning when I was entering The ER I was having trouble getting my brother to the door. A staff person rushed out with a wheelchair to help us both in. The triage nurses were both very professional and kind and dealing with me and my brother. When we were taken back to the examination room, the ER nurse was very compassionate towards my brother. He answered all his questions took extreme care and provided excellent treatment.
