Very unprofessional and ironically enough discriminatory themselves. They kept repeatedly misstating my last name. They ignored when I corrected them and they talked down to me like I was a toddler or child. Not everyone who has autism has a below average IQ. It is deeply insulting and disturbing that this kind of behavior is allowed to continue with this organization.
The person I spoke to on the phone was not helpful at all. You are better off calling a lawyer to find out about your disability rights. They do not care to help you at all, and the advice I received was wrong. So, once again, call a lawyer for advice, not this poorly run state agency.
These people are combative and rude. They say they will help you and then they accuse you of arguing with them when that was not even close to what you were doing. Very confusing. Also, every single thing you bring up that is a fair housing issue or ADA issue that has been confirmed by other civil rights organizations they try to fight you on and say that those are not actual issues. OMG!!! I was going to apply for help here but these continuous reviews is disappointing and disturbing as a parent of a child with a disability!!!! Wow….with no response from the agency itself to these reviews makes this place look even badder!!!!
So when it comes down to it. Your the only thing in Indiana that seems to fight for the rights of disability. There's even a whole paper that was written on a patients rights when being put into a psychiatric hospital. But the big problem seems to be there is only one in the entire state of Indiana and if your case didn't happen in Marion county they can't do anything about it.
