Do not honor COUPONS – Not only does their service and food suck, but they do not honor the coupons listed on their website. The person at the counter refused to take off the 15% discount for take-out. According to him, if you do a buffet "take-out," the coupon does not apply. The coupon had no such clause. And then he had the audacity to say, "for a pound of food, you want a 15% discount. "ha ha! he was actually disgusted by the fact that i was trying to save money. lol! Avoid! – This place is painfully slow, very small portions, and overpriced food! The service horrible and the food is really boring!
Good Food - Bad Service – My family and I hit the Sunday buffet. The food was good although I'm not a huge Indian food fan. Wife liked it but she doesn't think we'll ever go back. Service was poor - got some crabby old timer who was pissed I had a groupon and didn't check in once to ask about drinks, etc. I'd say check it out at least once.
Sambol is AWESOME!!! This is our FAVORITE restaurant in the Eagan area, hands down! Our three kids love it too, even the two-year-old. Whether you eat in our get take-out, the food is truly awesome. Try the Malai Kofta, or Nav Rattan Korma - our kids love both of those (we get it mild for them). Don't forget to order some Naan (Indian bread); you can get it plain or get flavors such as garlic or Aloo Naan, which is stuffed with delicious potatoes that have a little kick. Dangerously Good!!!!!!! A+ – Best Indian food in town, maybe in Minnesota. Try the Nav Rattan Korma- vegetarian. It's amazing!!! I've been going here for years and love it so much. It's family owned and operated, so I like that more than a franchised restaurant. Have to say not the best table service I've ever had, but the food makes up for it undoubtedly. What they lack in speed they make up for in charm. Highly recommend!
Good food but bit costly As an indian iam always in a search for good indian restaurant and when i found this place just a couple of miles from my house we immediately went for a lunch buffet during weekday.Wow lots of items and most of them are very tasty and never a plate was empty in the buffet.They just kept n filling it at am amazing speed.I loved the dosas and the naan varieties very much and not to forget the gheer which really brings the smell of india. Good food Like the other guy said, someone bought the old Indian restaurant and turned it into Sambol but I have to say the food has only improved. The buffet during lunch is great and everything is really good. Sambol even has Masala Dosa which is hard to find. Excellent taste!
Great Food, Great Prices – People have commented on the Prices being a little high here, but the quality is excellent. Think of it as PF Chang's vs Panda Express. Similair cuisine, but much better ingredients.
Best Blend of Indian & Srilankan Food – We visit Sambol almost weekly for dinners. Food is a blend of Indian & Srilankan which is awesome. Gothamba Roti, Kothu Roti, Appam which are available only in this restaurant not in others. Service is also good compared to other Indian restaurants in Minneapolis. I feel it's bit pricy compared to other restaurants for certain items like Spring Dosa that's the only con.
