Serving Delicious Indian Food In Bellevue Since 1993. Great Lunch Buffet, Take Outs and Catering Available. India Gate in the Eastgate area of Bellevue has been a popular destination for Indian food lovers since 1993, when the restaurant first started. The new management (from early 2006) has made a number of improvements, making it the place of North Indian food.

Best northindian food – This is my second review for any restuarant. Of the indian restaurants in Seattle i would call this one the best when it comes to taste, quality, quantity, ambience ,service etc. These guys know to cook. I being a good food critic can not deal with a fact that we don't get what we pay for. This one definitely justifies the money spent. Would highly recommend this to others.
Great Lunchtime Indian Buffet. Good value - new owners have made a big positive difference! – The new owners have made dramatic improvements at lunchtime. My colleagues and I eat lunch here regularly, and it has gone from being "the only local place available" to being somewhere we choose to eat. The buffet lunch is good value, the service is attentive but not intrusive, and the food taste has improved out of all recognition.... the Tandoori Chicken no longer has the "charcoal starter" taste that was a feature for so long. Former Great is Now Terrible – For many years, we enjoyed India Gate every 6 weeks or so. Their food was some of the best in the Seattle area. In fact, several other good Indian restaurants were started up by alumni from India Gate. Whenever we had a problem with the food back then, the problem was very minor, such as slightly underspiced vegetables. But sometime in the last year, the quality of the food at India Gate fell dramatically and swifty. In our last few visits, the food was almost inedible. At least some of the foo... read more
Used to be great. Now awful. – My wife and I used to enjoy coming to this restaurant now and then. We recently returned after a year or so, and everything had changed for the worse. My wife's tikka masala chicken tasted like it was made from canned tomato soup. The raita was more like a small cup of milk with carrot chunks thrown in. Not creamy at all. The vegetable samosas tasted like they had been frozen and reheated. This restaurant has obviously been taken over by new management, with a new chef. They need to change EVER... read more
What Happened? – My wife and I have been going to India Gate for over 2 year's. It has alway been our go to place because of the taste and quality and experience of the Indian food. . It's seem's as though recently the restaurant had undergoed a change in ownership. I say this only because when we went and got our usual meals they not only looked completly different but also tasted completly different. No creaminess, no spice and we ordered it spicy! And there seemed to be a lack of ingredients that used to play a major role... read more
Consistently Good – My friends and I are regulars here. We've been to India and enjoy great Indian cuisine. This place is reasonably priced, clean, and the food is consistently good.
Terrible Experience – Ok, so the food had reasonable flavor but was very stingy on ingredients ($10 for frozen peas and four chuncks of potato for a veggie entre). The rice that came with two dinners was barely a cup and we were charged $2.50 for the rice we didn't ask for. Our nan was good but came after we had finished the food- with no apology.
Heads up my Top 10 List! – We dine here a few times each month. The service and food are equally excellent. Our waiter always remembers our preferences and provides us with service that I've been unable to find in higher priced restaurants in Seattle or Bellevue. The food is wonderfully priced, hearty and always amazing. My Favorites: Lentil soup, Veggie Korma, any of the naan breads and the rice pudding.
Good Food, Good Value – I haven't had much Indian cuisine, but friends recommended this place when we met up for dinner. The food was all very good. Be careful how your order...Spiciness on a scale of 1-6. We ordered level 5 on one dish, and it was pretty hot! the Chicken Masala was fabulous as well as the Chicken Kebab. Shrimp Tandoori was good, but nothing special. Garlic Basil Naan (tortilla like bread) was also very good. The Mango Lassi drinks got great reviews from my friends. $100 for dinner for 4 was a great value. N... read more
