horrible place to work!! Employees are allowed to come in 30-45 minutes late for their shift or not show up at all numerous times without getting fired. The director is rude. The DON talks horrible about residents!!! Food is horrible!!! Employees on night shift are not supervised and when some residents fall on the floor and hollers for 25 minutes then other residents have to hunt for the staff they are outside then the resident that finds the employees gets in trouble by management. I have attended many events and spent numerous hours volunteering at Independence Court of Hyattsville over the past 20 years. The faculty is warm, friendly and extremely dedicated. The facility is clean and inviting. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure the residents are happy, safe and having fun! I would highly recommend this facility for a loved one.
I am a resident at Oak Park Village at Slidell. I moved in March 2019. The facility is clean, airy with good A/C and heat when necessary. The food is very good. What impressed me when I toured was the "front porches" of all the apartments. I've spent many a pleasant time on mine visiting with my neighbors. My apartment is deep cleaned once a week, bed changed and laundry also done once a week. If you need help with anything there is always someone available, all we have to do is push our call button.
