Not many people know about Il Pizzaiolo but it is one of the best places in Pittsburgh to savor authentic Neapolitan pizzas. The pizza crusts are crisped in a brick oven over wood fire at 1000 degree Fahrenheit (538 degree Celsius) for just one and a half minutes and impregnated with Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Their Buffalo mozzarella cheese is imported from Naples while the other cheeses and meats are sourced from international food producers. Pizza great. Mozzarella great. Will return
The food here is just delicious. We were visiting from New York and happened upon this place. We were pleasantly surprised. We all ordered chicken piccata and it was honestly the best I ever had. They don’t use flour, they pounded a breast so there was a little crispy skin. It was very well flavored and balanced. It was served with the most delicious roasted baby potatoes. I highly highly recommend this spot.
5 stars for drinks, all are wonderful and excellent mixes of unique blends, a great time out! Pizza is excellent- Spicy Capocollo, Prosciutto E Arugula, Bianca (6 stars), pasta great. The Margharita pizza is uninspired- avoid. Excellent desserts!
