Not many people know about Il Pizzaiolo but it is one of the best places in Pittsburgh to savor authentic Neapolitan pizzas. The pizza crusts are crisped in a brick oven over wood fire at 1000 degree Fahrenheit (538 degree Celsius) for just one and a half minutes and impregnated with Extra Virgin Olive Oil. All I ordered was a Mexican coke and a margarita pizza but there was excessive charring on my pizza. So I couldn’t really eat crust ☹️ but the guts of the pizza is good and didn’t really have time to ask for it to be remade since I had to make a long drive
My experience, was okay the waiter was working the top floor by himself doing the best he could. The mussels was amazing but the salmon was way too salty. Definitely going to try the other location.
Excellent food and service. Portions are huge! This is a great place to order plates for the table and share. Nice wine selection and great cocktails. Small dining area but outdoor seating when the weather is nice.
The pizza sauce was highly salted, and both the dough and toppings were below average in quality.
