Some of the best Italian in LA! – I'd recently had some not-so-good experiences with Italian and was hoping to have a good meal for a change. Il Moro delivered the goods! We were slightly put off by the $4.50 valet so we parked two blocks down the street for free and walked up. The bar area up front was elegant but empty. We were wondering where everyone was when a hostess greeted us and led us to our friends who were already seated. We started off with some sourdough and olive spread which was simple but tasty. Food and dinning experience is truely Italian! – As a high profile celebrity photographer, I cherish the discovery of a restaurant that truely is Italian. In a very busy day, it is a great pleasure to step into a little bit of Italy, at Il Moro. Thank you to the people at Il Moro.
Fabulous! Best Italian food in LA! – What a great experience! Great food, a great bar, great prices; this place has it all! We felt as though we were dining in Italy. We had a fantastic dining experience and highly recommend it to others! The staff was very knowledgable about the menu choices and offered great wine suggestions. Enjoy!
THE BEST ITALIAN...HANDS DOWN!! – My family dines out often, but rarely do we enjoy the professionalism of this place! Close your eyes and you are in Italy - open them and you are in Milan! We love this place, and it can stand up to ANYONE on the west side, even Valentino, for half the price. (hint: ask the owner for wine advice - he prides himself on finds that noone else will have and that you will have never heard of in your life!! This is wine lovers dream!!
Hope you don't get the waiter we got (on the patio) because he's lucky he still has a job. (but unlucky for customers) Worst service & attitude from a waiter we've ever experienced. (and the Italian gentleman who answers the phone is very unfriendly) Food was so so, and they don't have a full bar. (there's sooo many better Italian restaurants in LA) Thank goodness for the hostess with the mostess because her kindness & sweet compassion slightly made up for The Waiter From Hell. (the bus staff was good)
THIS PLACE IS EVEN BETTER THAN THE TIMES SAYS... – I have been a guest at Il Moro for years and it has always been a treat. The people are wonderful and go out of their way to make us feel like family. The dining is exceptional - the closest thing I have experienced to being in Italy - and for very reasonable prices. Now that it has been rediscovered by the LAT, who praised it (10/5/06) it is likely to be packed - be sure and make a reservation in advance - or just do what we usually do: stop into the wine bar, where for the... read more
Great place for east side meets west side – I came into Il Moro for Happy Hour and could not beleive the spread they put out. The huge wine and beer list is amazing. I went back for dinner and now try and get there once a week. if you like real Italian this is the real deal!!
Great patio but that's all! – We just returned from dinner to celebrate a birthday. A very special occasion that was spoiled by the waiter. It is true that the service you receive can make or brake a dining experience. Our waiter was unfriendly, impatient, uninformed & rude from the moment we ordered drinks. Also, he ignored us all night. We had to ask for everything. We complained to the hostess who had to come to his rescue. She was wonderful. We got nothing for our birthday, not even a candle on a strawberry, which they g... read more
Get Some Mor(e)-o! – I love this restaurant. They just completed a nice remodel, and the place looks great. The food is awesome and fairly-priced, especially for this caliber of Italian food. The patio is great on a warm night. I have been eating here for years and the only drawback is it seems the clientele is a little on the older side.
