After searching the web in Southern CA for a Dr. that is experienced and knowledgeable about Hypermobility EDS, I came upon Dr. Mamak Shakib in Irvine, CA. I would highly recommend her!! She is the most compassionate and caring Dr. who truly loves her patients and wants nothing more than to help them live a healthy and painful life free life. She is patient and listens closely. She doesn’t hurry or rush through a session. She is totally focused on YOU as a person/patient. It is a drive since my daughter lives near San Diego,... read more

I couldn’t recommend Dr. Shakib’s office more. From the excellent customer service from Carolyn at the front desk, to the atmosphere of the waiting room and office, the place is top tier. Dr. Shakib takes her time and does a thorough, interactive exam and is extremely knowledgeable on the body as a whole. Thank you for everything, I extremely appreciate it.

Dr. Shakib changed my life… Before, I had many doctors tell me there was nothing wrong with me, constantly dismissing my pain and feelings because it wasn’t severe enough to categorize as Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS). Not only was she able to give me a clear diagnosis, identifying the root of my hypermobility pain but overtime, she helped me understand and util... read more

I started seeing Dr Shakib for my hEDS. Within the first few appointments I had more answers than I had gotten in a decade. We connected almost all of my other issues to EDS and began treatment for them. This treatment has changed my life and I couldn’t be thankful enough. Dr Shakib and the whole office is extremely kind and welcoming. I utilize a service animal to assist with my mobility and the whole office has been nothing but amazing with him!

For the past ten years I had dealt with constant pain in my shoulders, limiting my mobility and ability to navigate everyday life. During this time I had been to countless doctors, all proposing hypothetical invasive treatments solely to figure out what the problem could be. One doctor suggested hypermobility, resulting in coming across Dr. Shakib. Within the first meeting, Dr. Shakib was able to assess the issue quickly, and point out other affected areas even I had not noticed prior. Additionally, through her aid and instr... read more
