I'm pretty stingy with five-star ratings, just so you know. Was in town from Louisville visiting a friend of mine. When the question of where to eat came up, I suggested a local 'comfort food' type eatery, a favorite with the locals. One look at the place - the dowdy exterior, faded signs and *packed* parking lot - told me I would like what is put on my plate (I tend to be suspicious of restaurants that are too nice-looking and squeaky-clean). When I go there I always get coconut cream pie and banana cream pie first before eating my entree. Always room for this delicious pie.
My wife's favorite pie is butterscotch. You just can't find places that have butterscotch pie. Hyde's has it on Wednesdays and it is the best! We usually buy the whole pie and bring some home for later!
